DOT-3 and DOT-4 are brake fluids belonging to different regulatory classes. By adjusting the proportional ratio of their main components, their performance characteristics differ—particularly in terms of dry (moisture-free) boiling point and viscosity.
DOT-3 has higher viscosity and a lower boiling point. DOT-4 is designed for use under higher dynamic loads.
